Securing software updates

The Bosch IoT Rollouts Sign & Encrypt extension facilitates the creation of encrypted and signed firmware packages thus enabling secure software updates for the Internet of Things (IoT). That way it ensures the confidentiality, integrity, and authenticity of updates in a highly flexible, automated, content agnostic, and fine-grained manner.

• Flexible - choose the most suitable method of signing and encryption, as well as cryptographic service provider.

• Automated - packaging script triggering tasks which in turn produce secured (signed and encrypted) artifacts in a container format.

• Content agnostic - any suitable format can be rolled out, such as *.bin, *.tar, *.zip, etc.

• Fine-grained - access management allowing fine-grained definition of roles and permissions on application and device configuration level.
