Promoting a recipe now creates a SWUpdate compatible SWU (CPIO) package. The package contains the recipe's firmware and swupdate scripts. It is checked by a new validator and stored as a software module and distribution set. A tenant configuration switches packaging on. The DSI API now supports module provisioning, module inventory reports and system and module updates. Recipe types, module types and error reports have also been improved.
New features
Package recipes as SWU packages
Recipe promotion now produces a SWU package that can be distributed through Rollouts. Recipe types can validate the package contents beforehand.
- ROLEX-2911: Create a CPIO (SWU) package when a recipe is promoted
- ROLEX-2919: Add SWU packaging validator to recipe types via management API and UI
- ROLEX-2926: Introduce tenant configuration for packaging, which provisions the required distribution set type and software module type in Rollouts
- ROLEX-2924: Store packaged artifacts as a software module and distribution set in Rollouts
Module inventory and updates via DSI
Devices can now provision their modules, report their inventory and fetch updates through the DSI API.
- ROLEX-2841: Provision system modules of
application/jsoncontent type via the DSI endpoint/{tenant}/controller/v1/{controllerId}/system/modules - ROLEX-2840: Create targets in Rollouts from module inventory reports
- ROLEX-2857: Support the HC-specific sys-info format for module inventory submissions
- ROLEX-2899: Expose system and module updates via the DSI API
Improvements
- ROLEX-2909: Show both reported-at and received-at timestamps in error reports
- ROLEX-2913: Allow recipe types to specify a distribution set type that contains swupdate scripts
- ROLEX-2912: Allow module types to specify the software module type whose firmware artifact is included in the SWU package
- ROLEX-2930: Add the generated distribution set to the recipe as a system distribution set
- ROLEX-2925: Show a dialog explaining the consequences when the "updatable" flag of a module type is changed
- ROLEX-2930: Fix how the firmware type of a module type is determined, now resolved by the backend
Bugs fixed
- ROLEX-2913: Fix selection of the script distribution set type in recipe types
